Some stories are too special to be forgotten. For Philip McGuirk, a few imaginative tales told to his daughters during family holidays became the beginning of a whole world of adventure.

Philip spent four decades as a family law solicitor in central London before retiring from private practice in 2025. But long before he became a published children's author, he was creating unforgettable adventures for his two daughters on the beautiful island of Gozo.

First told in the mid-1990s, the Colin and Susan stories were filled with daring rescues, unexpected friendships and the belief that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference. What began as bedtime entertainment soon became a treasured part of family life.

Nearly thirty years later, encouraged by his family, Philip finally put those memories onto paper in 2024, bringing Colin, Susan and their friends to life for a new generation of young readers.

With more adventures planned, Philip's journey as an author is only just beginning. And the stories that once delighted two little girls are now ready to capture the imaginations of children everywhere.
